Grief, Loss & Death
Grieving often feels like a solitary journey. Following a loss, loved ones might withdraw, intending to grant us solitude for mourning or because they do not know what to say or do. Alternatively, we may experience a lack of understanding from those around us. During grief we often feel the pressure to maintain a facade of strength for others, this can be draining and feel like you suppress a lot of emotion. Then when you are alone, the grief returns and can feel overwhelming and hard to bear.
Counselling provides a safe space to talk about your loss, the emotions we go through without a loved one and the adjustment we go through to learn to live without them. Grieving is a natural process, allowing individuals to come to terms with their loss, honor the memory of the departed, and find solace in the support of loved ones. Grief should always be witnessed and expressed.
